JT was born in Winfield, Illinois, on January 16, 1973, but moved back to the Rio Grande Valley where he lived in Mission, Texas and graduated from Mission High School in 1991. JT started acting in high school, where he participated in many theatrical plays. After high school, he attended the University of Texas Pan American where he majored in Psychology. His desire to fulfill his dreams as an actor brought him to Austin, Texas; where he still resides. He landed his first acting/stunt gig on the set of " The Alamo, " and his life would change forever. He has been featured as an extra, stuntman, and actor on various TV series, feature films, and independent productions. His talent has etched an indelible mark in the industry and into the hearts of those he has worked with. His range of skills span from acting, voice over, stunts, choreography, lighting, sound, writing, editing, music, and directing. On set, he cares about keeping a positive moral and anticipating the needs of his cast and crew. JT loves working with children. In the past he has mentored and instructed many students through the Austin Film School, LUPE ARTE, and University of Texas school of Film. He continues to use his platform to speak at schools for at risk kids and continues to mentor and instruct several child actors. He has received the Merit Award for the Best Supporting Actor at Indie Fest 2009 for the role of Benito in the movie "Guilty." He also recently received the Best Actor in a Drama at the 2018 Official Latino Film festival for his lead role in "El Rosario." He has worked on several of Robert Rodriguez films and currently, you can see him on the USA Network TV series, " Queen of the South" as Boaz Jimenez.
