Circe Sturm

Circe Sturm hails from the great state of Texas, where she first started acting in her hometown of Houston at the age of nine. She has gone on to study acting at the University of Texas at Austin, The State Theatre School of Acting, and to train extensively in Meisner technique with Richard Robichaux at the Robichaux Studio. She works primarily in film and commercials but also enjoys doing improv, voice over, and most especially theatre. Some of her favorite Austin theatre credits include Mary in The Language Archive, Claire in Proof, Puck in a Midsummer Night's Dream, Amy Lee Fullernoy in Lone Star, Babbette in Jessica Kubzansky's original play, Inventory, and The Re-Set Project with Asaf Ronen and Lucky Chaos Theatre Company. Circe can be seen in commercials for Progressive, Retail.Me.Not, Southside Market and BBQ, Purina Cat Chow, St. David's Hospital, and Chevy. Her recent film credits include the lead in Ilyanica, and supporting roles in Megan and Dan, and Love Land.
Circe is lucky in that she loves her day job. She is a professor of cultural anthropology at the University of Texas at Austin, the same place where she once earned her undergraduate degree. In addition to acting, she enjoys writing creative non-fiction, and has published two award winning books, some short form memoir and poetry.
